Hondón de Los Frailes is a village in the province of Alicante, located in the Hondón Valley, between grape vineyards and almond trees, and surrounded by the Sierra de los Frailes. It is bordered by Bajo Vinalopó to the east, Orihuela to the west, Albatera to the south and Hondón de las Nievas to the north, the latter also forming part of the Hondón Valley.

The village is a 40 minute drive from the beach of El Pinet, which stretches for over two kilometres. A vast pine forest and an impressive strip of dunes add to the scenic value of this blue flag beach. The presence of restaurants, lifeguard surveillance, showers, wooden walkways connecting the road to the beach and a large parking area make the beach popular.

The present-day village has developed mainly around the Iglesia de la Virgen de la Salud (Church of the Virgin of Health), built by Dominican friars in the late 18th century. The residents, who are also expatriates, celebrate many annual festivals. They include Semana Santa, Semana Santa and a five-day spectacle in honour of the Virgen de Salud in the last week of August with a parade, water fight, processions, fireworks and music. Many of the events take place in the town square, including the Three Kings parade in January.

Outdoor enthusiasts love the P.R.V-225 Sendero de Jaime el Barbudo footpath near the village from where they can enjoy panoramic views of the valley and the Mediterranean Sea.
